The Best is Waiting

Lori (Brad's wife), George South, Dick Bourne, and Brad Armstrong in Gastonia SC circa 2006

Somewhere around the month of March, 1993, I wrestled Sid Vicious, Awesome Kongs (what a work), and the Ultimate Warrior twice, all within a 3 day period.

On the 3rd day, I wrestled BRAD ARMSTRONG.

Folks, that's what life does to you. It may be rough now, but I promise the BEST is waiting!

Amen.

Don't Stop Believin'

Just dropped off Scarlet and watching her walk in. Has not gotten any easier.

In l980, the very first road trip I ever made was with Sonny Fargo & Buzz Tyler. I was put in the back seat and knew to keep my mouth shut. On that trip I heard JOURNEY for the first time. For the last 40 years I have tried to recapture that special time. Tonight, with the wind blowing, and my beautiful twin daughter Scarlet standing beside me, we joined 19,000 friends as that same band sang "Don't Stop Believin'" and gave me back that special day!!

Thank you Chad & Vicky Adams for one of the greatest nights a Dad could have with his little girl!

Please watch this Facebook video Chad posted!

Forgiveness

Just so I understand this, right? Somebody calls me an 'ugly word' and I never forgive them? But we lied, jailed, tore His skin off His body, nailed Him to a tree, smacked and spit on Him, tore His clothes off and then KILLED Him . . . . and He forgives us? I am confused! Preach!

It Won't Be A Surprise with Me!

Listen folks, let me go ahead and save somebody the time and trouble! Just in case 8 years from now ya'll find an old beta tape of me .....

I HAVE SAID, DID, DRUNK, THOUGHT, LUSTED, LIED, FOUGHT, HATED, and messed up more than anyone! I am a sinner!

So don't ya'll go all nuts like it's a surprise!

But, I hate to let ya'll down, see I confessed all that to my JESUS, and He erased all of it with His sweet BLOOD. I WILL DO A NEW THING.

Isaiah 43:19

Talk About Messing Up

Yep, want to talk about messing up?

I once punched Brute Benard in the mouth, right before he knocked me out. I blocked the Ultimate Warrior's clothesline which he didn't appreciate. I told the original Sheik what I wanted to use for a finish as he was getting his famous pencil out. I let Maddog Buzz Sawyer borrow my brand new kneepad. I tried to trade chops with Wahoo which didn't work out too good. I woke right up when Jake throwed his snake on me just after taking the DDT. Heck, I even made Ted Turner mad by wearing "John 3:16" on my trunks.

But the one thing I didn't mess up is asking JESUS to come into my heart and save me! Couldn't if I tried. It's based on what He did, not on what I didn't!

Amen.

Super Sunday

I am not Superman. Batman maybe, but not Superman.

I get in from the road most Saturday nights around 3 or 4 a.m. Amazing how good this old army cot feels Sunday mornings! Oh, how this body-slammed, elbowed in the mouth, book selling body wants to stay in bed. But, I ALWAYS get the biggest blessing from my wonderful church!

Thank you Pastor Jessie. What a great job this morning.

"WHY DON'T WE JUST CLAIM JESUS, IN THE NAME OF JESUS!? ''

Batman sure glad he went!

Happy 4th

Know what makes my happy 4th? That moment at 8 a.m. as a Dad when you get a sweet call from one of your beautiful twins, that she is already laying on the beach!

Thank you, Jesus, for the smallest things!

Quiet Time

Hadn't been at the Faith Fair 20 minutes and have already adjustted an attitude!

Got here early just to sit in my car, turn Journey down a little and listen to the sounds of the carnival, reading my Bible, while I smell the funnel cakes. A goof walks up to my car, you would think my open Bible in my hands would be a hint to leave me alone! First thing out of his mouth, a cuss word, and he's just talking about the weather.

I close my eyes to pray, the idiot cusses again. Finally, enough!

Rambo didn't turn the other cheek, but I sure let the idiot know I'm trying to read my Bible. Is he that stupid?

Whew! Friends keep your cell phones close, my bondsman is closed for the 4th.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes Passes Away

My heart is broken! The news of Dusty passing hurts. I loved that man. He was a friend, a boss and someone that helped me feed my family for many years. My prayers go out to his family. He missed Dick Murdoch so much over the years and to think of them together again, only helps with the hurt. I will miss "The Amercian Dream"!

My buddy Dick Bourne took this picture of me and Dusty in Spartanburg SC in 2003. It was the first time I had seen Dusty in several years. He always had that big smile and hug. He did so much for me. Ask any of my kids where they lived growing up and they all will say "3638 American Dream Blvd., at the corner of Stardust Avenue, JACK!"
