The EWA Missouri Heavyweight title belt is a replica of the Missouri State Championship recognized in the 1960s-1980s by the NWA booking office in St. Louis, MO. It was crafted by Dave Millican, and was put in service in 2008 during the period where the EWA was recognizing various state and regional wrestling titles that corresponded with the old NWA territories.

Steamboat is currently wrestling in Puerto Rico and Japan

EWA Missouri rules allow for a champion to go without defending his title for any amount of time with approval from the St. Louis Wrestling office and the EWA commissioner's office. Steamboat received approval from both on Jan. 6, 2009, but must defend the title at least once a quarter.
